--- Nothing can stop true love. Not time. Not even the devil himself. ---
1805. Laurent. Indentured servant. Desperate to escape a life that is falling apart.
2017. Beast. Kings of Hell Motorcycle Club vice president. His fists do the talking.
Beast has been disfigured in a fire, but he’s covered his skin with tattoos to make sure no one mistakes his scars for weakness. The accident not only hurt his body, but damaged his soul and self-esteem, so he’s wrapped himself in a tight cocoon of violence and mayhem where no one can reach him.
Until one night, when he finds a young man covered in blood in their clubhouse. Sweet, innocent, and as beautiful as an angel fallen from heaven, Laurent pulls on all of Beast’s heartstrings. Laurent is so lost in the world around him, and is such a tangled mystery, that Beast can’t help but let the man claw his way into the stone that is Beast’s heart.
In 1805, Laurent has no family, no means, and his eyesight is failing. To escape a life of poverty, he uses his beauty, but that only backfires and leads him to a catastrophe that changes his life forever. He takes one step into the abyss and is transported to the future, ready to fight for a life worth living.
What he doesn’t expect in his way is a brutal, gruff wall of tattooed muscle with a tender side that only Laurent is allowed to touch. And yet, if Laurent ever wants to earn his freedom, he might have to tear out the heart of the very man who took care of him when it mattered most.

Laurent and the Beast gay time travel romance Kings of Hell MC Book 1 edition by KA Merikan Romance eBooks
I rarely read Paranormal Romance, but I was intrigued by the rare reversed time travel. I am a bit tired of people traveling into past and was pleasantly surprised by character from Regency period traveling to our time.I have mixed feelings about the book. There were parts I loved a lot and parts that were not my cup of tea. I loved Laurent character and the way the authors portrayed cultural shock he experienced after time travel to 21 century. He does learns quick, but not extraordinary quick. Most reversed time travel suffers from character adapting too fast or not questioning every day basic things. I mean they tend to be shocked by TV or cars, but from moment zero know how to use shampoo or how to talk to shopping assistant. I loved how precise the author were in describing Laurent’s experience of his surroundings. Oh, and his obsession with plastic is precious and so cute. I loved the first part of his romance with Beast. I loved Beast at the beginning, as I love both grumpy love interest and Beauty-and-the-Beast tropes.
But somewhere in the middle the romance lost it way and became too sex obsessed. I do get that Beast is troubled, flowed and suffers from trauma. Especially because said trauma is magically increased, but his “have sex with me otherwise I am not going to be nice to you” attitude quickly started to annoy me. Also the patronizing misogyny of biker subculture is definitely not for me. The whole love interests are not part of us, they are just “property” under protection is quite infuriating. I don’t question the subculture – I don’t like it, but I don’t question it – I do, however question authors choices.
Not that bikers, especially disabled LGBTQ ones, don’t deserve love stories, but I am honestly anticipate for some character growth. Which was almost none on Beast’s side in the second part of the story. While I enjoyed the book, I felt it didn’t live fully to it’s potential.
Because Beast is potentially wonderful character, and the parts where he had to deal with common prejudice and bigotry were very well written. My heart ached that he couldn’t take Laurent to a proper date.
I enjoyed the mystery and the worl-building quite a bit and definitely intrigued to read more some day.

Laurent and the Beast gay time travel romance Kings of Hell MC Book 1 edition by KA Merikan Romance eBooks Reviews
There were aspects of this book that I liked, but it mostly revolved around the larger story of the Kings of Hell pack worth the demon rather than with Laurent or Kai specifically. I didn't like Beast through the majority of this book because he constantly made assumptions about Laurent that were completely unfounded based on anything we knew about him.
I didn't think that Laurent had a believable speach pattern, or word choice from the beginning of the nineteenth century, especially when he told Fane that he wasn't a "loser" with no friends at the very beginning of the book.
I will read the other books in this series because I've already bought them, and the blurbs look promising, but I hope that they get better than what we got here.
A definite page turner! There were some tense moments, along with emotional moments (yes, I'll admit it, I had some tears in the last few chapters). I like the different POV between Beast and Laurent so the reader could learn what each was thinking, their emotions, feelings, etc. Each had their own problems to deal with, and it was nice to see how they worked through them alone... and then together. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book to see what Knight gets up to!
It seems time traveling stories are not for me. I couldn't get to love this one. I'm in the minority here as almost all my friends loved this.
I was really excited to read this new series by my favorite duo writers, but I think my expectations were too high. I couldn't really get into the story. The characters seemed so childish. Childish to say the lest. Laurent's ignorance was understandable, he traveled 212 years in the future, but he was very annoying at times. The miscommunication made things worse in their relationship and I rolled my eyes a lot while reading. I'm really sorry to admit it wasn't what I'd hoped for.
I've buddy read this with my best friend and even if we had a good time sharing our thoughts and highlights, I couldn't get to love this story.
The mystery and suspense made me turn the pages, but I didn't feel any earth shaking attraction between Beast and Laurent. I was curious about their HEA, this much I can admit, BUT I didn't understand their choices or actions. I wanted so much more. I had so many questions and scenarios.
I can say this story surprised me, but not always in a good way. I was on the edge of my seat a few times, but I expected so much more from the ending. Yes, King got what he deserved and they ended up together, but I wasn't too happy about the epilogue.
Hope the next book will be much better. Looking forward to Knight's story.
This book had very interesting blurb and some parts of it did live up to my expectations, however I was left feeling like it should have been better.
I have to say what bothered my the most was Laurent, his ignorance is logical considering the 200+ years he time traveled into the future, but it made his interactions with Beast so awkward and based on misunderstandings. I remember feeling especially put out by Beast expecting Laurent to put out just because they spent a day together and he got him clothes and glasses and the like. And it sort of ruined all of Beast's personality for me. I also had some trouble believing they did not figure out Laurent's origin sooner, this book made me eye roll more than a few times...
I DO think the supernatural elements are interesting, a bit dark but not in a way I was bothered by it (not being the kind of reader that liked dark books). I was left curious about book 2, which is a big plus for any story, especially one that I had so many issue with while reading.
